Amy Poliero is an American multimedia artist working in London. Inspired by applications of physics and mathematics in everyday life, she focuses on themes of interconnectedness, environment, and perception. Her work invites viewers into a world devoid of time by combining the atmospheric qualities of romantic landscape painting with geometric forms reminiscent of a physics textbook.
Her process is deeply intuitive, as she allows ideas to evolve organically in the studio while focusing on material experimentation. This approach cultivates wonder and curiosity in every step of the work, encouraging the audience to consider higher dimensions, quantum phenomena, and the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
She also reflects on complexity and human progress, informed by authors such as Margaret Atwood, H.G. Wells, and Cixin Liu, as well as contemporary writing on physics and the sublime. In the age of quantum computing and commercialized space travel, what will be the interstellar reach of humanity? Her response is a visual testimony to the worldview being revived by quantum physics: we are part of a massive cosmic exchange of energy happening on an unimaginably small scale.
Currently, Amy is an MA Fine Art student at the Chelsea College of Arts. For general inquiries or to purchase work, please fill out the form below.
